Your Own Personal Red Room of Pain
Note from Timaree: So many of you have asked about 50 Shades of Grey. So, in response, this is a guest blog from writer Kayla Davis, a contributing writer for Adam and Eve.
Just months ago, if you had asked most women if they wanted to be sex slaves to their husbands, to be tied up with rope and zip ties, or even be spanked into submission, you would have been met with a look of disgust and horror. Now thanks to Fifty Shades of Grey, the walls of BDSM are getting torn down. Every where you look women are asking each other if they are reading it, smiling at each other like they know something other’s don’t.
If you have found yourself in this crimson-faced majority and are looking for ways to turn your bedroom antics into more of a Red Room of Pain playroom, then you’ve come to the right place.
The first step to achieving a Christian Grey status romp is to secure yourself some sort of restraint system. If you haven’t been tied up before, I recommend starting slowly. Use the FSoG tactics and incorporate neck ties–tying yourself to bed posts or your wrists together. If you’re more comfortable with the idea of restraint, look for a good old-fashioned leather hog-tie, an over-the-door or under-the-bed restraint system or a spreader bar. Once you’ve acclimated to being controlled, you can move into full on wall systems.
Second, you’re going to need a leather riding crop. You should get a brown one if you really want to emulate the book. However, riding crops come in a variety of lengths and materials. You can get simple, friendlier ones that are made of cloth or plastic. Or you can get intense with it and pick up a leather, metal lined riding crop that will leave you yelping in pleasure. Whatever you choose, make sure you set up a safe word beforehand; better safe than sorry.
If you’re anything like me, the scene where Christian uses the Ben Wa Balls on Ana has been forever seared into your memory. And if you’re anything like me, then you’d take my advice when I say you should absolutely get them, because they are absolutely worth it. If you’ve never played with Ben Wa Balls before they can be kind of intimidating. I mean they’re a little bit weird. You can get them either connected or separated and in a variety of materials: metal, plastic, glass or silicone. I recommend the connected glass or metal ones because the separated balls are good for vaginal muscle building, whereas the connected ones are better for actual play. Glass and metal Ben Wa Balls are also easier to clean, smoother and retain heat better than the other two. If you head over to Adam & Eve you can find Ben Wall Balls for everyone’s tastes!
Finally, if you’re looking for more of an interactive playroom, much like the Red Room of Pain, then I suggest looking into a sex swing. While they aren’t really a suspension toy, it hints at one, it allows for your partner to take complete and utter control and it’s just fun.
Now what are you waiting for? You’ve been worked up since reading the book. Shut up, kneel down and take it like the good girl you are.
