Overcoming STI Stigma and Sexual Shame: A Conversation with Brittany Policastro

Hey kittens, it’s time for #TBT and a piece that went up initially in July of 2016. We’re revisiting this conversation because Brittany and I are doing an upcoming 2 day intensive called Sexual Being. She brings the yoga, I bring the sex. We’re focusing on body image, sexual shame, pleasure, and the mechanics of exercise for better sex. You should be a part of the experience!
brittany.jpgFor years, Brittany Policastro has focused her efforts on helping others: empowering them, helping them heal, and teaching them sustainability. She knows, first hand, how challenging it can be to find self-acceptance in a world filled with shaming messages. In her latest act of defiance against these harmful ideas, she came out to the world about the STI with which she has lived for the last 15 years. Brittany shares her experiences with dating, rejection and internalizing the stigma around infections like herpes.

We talk about this, body image, asking for sexual pleasure, and much more.
