It’s #TBT and time for a vintage podcast. This one originally went up in July of 2012.
A Perfect Ending: It’s not a lesbian film, although its story line revolves around the unlikely and intense sexual relationship that develops between two women.
It’s not erotica, although it features far more (and far longer, more nude and detailed) lovemaking scenes than the standard romantic film.
It’s an art house film all about women’s lives and finding the bravery to find your purpose and passion. And it’s premiering now, as part of several cities’ queer film festivals.
Fresh off their successful Outfest screening in LA, I spoke to writer/director Nicole Conn, star Barbara Niven, and Executive Producer Marina Rice Bader about what this film means to them and the boundaries that it crosses. We talk about how rare it is to find a film focused so squarely on women and discuss what it was like to write and film the many sex scenes.
A Perfect Ending is having its East Coast premiere this Saturday, July 21st as part of Philadelphia’s QFest and is celebrating with an after party at Sisters Nightclub.
